Anybody lost a Turkish Van cat in the last 12 months or so?

About 12 months ago, this Turkish Van cat started to come into our Garden searching for food. We have tried to look after it, whilst taking steps to try to find it's owner (if he has one?) We took him to our local Vets and we was told he is a NEUTERED TOM, but NOT microchipped. The Vet thought he is about 3-4 years of age. At first, he was very nervous and timid, but, we found him to be very gentle and placid, and of a nice nature and friendly!

Alternatively, would anyone be interested in adopting or fostering this cat? If someone was to take him on and find that it was'nt working out, for any reason, WE WOULD TAKE HIM BACK! We can't really adopt him because we already have a Tom cat who dos'nt really like him, and, also, we can't really afford another cat!

If you can be of any help over the above please try to contact me! Thank you

Admin reply: If anyone can help, please contact [email protected] and we'll forward your details on.

Just read story in the daily mail re a turkish van cat and realised that our cat is also a turkish van..
What a surprise....

We have had Boris around 3 years he is a great character full of life acts more like a dog. We got him from our local blue cross home. He is very affectionate but can also show his claws when annoyed.

He follows us down the road and to the pub.

Do we need to register him?

Love to hear of other stories relating to this breed

Admin reply: Hi Tony,

No need to register him! Turkish Vans certainly can be quite dog-like, and generally get on well with dogs.

The TVCC publishes a magazine with stories and news from other owners. It's free to members, and you can join up online now.

The revamped website is looking good. The photo competition winners look even better here than they did at the AGM. I hope the TVCC continues onward into the future, bringing both people and cats together.
